Red Thread Alliance

Introduction

Thanks for joining The Red Thread Alliance! This is a peer exchange community, powered by a Slack workspace, conceived and facilitated by Red Thread Brands. At Red Thread, we exist to build connection and our intent for this community is to bring together people from diverse backgrounds and experiences with similar business interests and goals.

We hope you find The Red Thread Alliance to be an open, welcoming environment for personal and professional growth, enrichment, and understanding. In keeping with this goal, we have developed some rules of engagement - the most important being: be nice. We absolutely will not accept any behavior that is harassing, harmful, hateful, rude, or disrespectful.

Rules of Engagement

Be

  • Open-minded & inclusive: Treat people with respect, even if you have had different experiences or hold different opinions.
  • Kind: Leave judgment and harsh words behind.
  • Willing to dialogue: Ask questions when you have them or need help, listen when other people respond.
  • Social: Get to know everyone! We have lots of leaders from different industries and companies and one of them just might be the connection you need for your next project.
  • Open to learning: Share what you know and commit to growing personally and professionally.
  • Promotional: IN the Promotions channel. Please don’t respond to every inquiry with a pitch for you/your company/your product. But share new events, products, and promotions in the promotions channel.

Don't Be

  • Disruptive: Try to stay on topic within current threads, or start new ones. And keep to the channel topics (let us know if you’d like to start a new topic channel!)
  • Spammy: Please keep all promotional posts to the promotions channel.
  • Intolerant: We will not allow ANY negative comments based on sex, race, gender identity, sexual identity, religion, political views, abilities, home life, income, etc. We will remove anyone from the community for this behavior.
  • Intimidating: This is a welcoming community. We will not allow intimidation, threats, belittling, or patronizing in any way, shape, or form.
  • Political: We get it, it can be hard to keep politics out of business. We want our community to be inviting and engaging for everyone, and politics can be polarizing. Sharing news about policy and law is acceptable. Sharing your personal political opinions is not.

  • Anyone with a checkmark next to their name is a moderator for the community. Please feel free to reach out to any of them with questions, ideas, suggestions, or complaints. Please don’t use the checkmark in your name or profile unless you are a moderator.
  • Please use threads to help keep channels clean. You can reference this video on using Slack.
  • We will never share your contact information within the Slack workspace or anywhere else. You can update your profile with as little or as much information about yourself (including your contact information) as you choose. You can reference this video on using Slack.
  • We suggest checking in with the community and engaging every day - a few times a day if possible.

If you witness or experience any behavior that is unacceptable, please contact a moderator via a direct message. Any report will remain confidential, and reporters will remain anonymous to the community.

If you are contacted by a moderator to stop certain behavior, please do so immediately. Failure to stop will result in the moderator banning you at their discretion. Repeating unacceptable behavior will result in banning. Being banned from the community is permanent and non-negotiable. Be nice!
